Assault Marine Sergeant

Hurra! I managed to finish another assault marine - the sergeant with his plasma pistol - and also, Tyberos arrived in the mail today! I think I was very lucky, the mini was near flawless. I've gotten some real crap mold errors in my Forgeworld miniatures sometimes, but Tyberos was a real beauty. I look forward to painting him next week, when I get back from my vacation. Oh, I forgot to add earlier; I got all the Space Hulk terminators, and will be de-Blood Angel-ifying them next week as well.

Have a good week all, paix.

Assault Marine - complete

Well, I finished my first assault marine today. I'm not 100% happy with it, but happy enough. The legs, chest and head are from Forgeworld, I am quite pleased I spent money on them. They sure were expensive. The Devastator squad has been undercoated, but I've been working on the assault marines first, and they're almost done. I reckon I'll be able to finish one more before I'll be gone for about a week on vacation.

Devastator Sergeant Kai-Loq

Just finished the devastator squad sergeant, Brother Kai-Loq. Yeah, I decided to give him the name Kai-Loq instead. One thing I'm really happy with on this mini is the battle damage. He really looks battered.

Assault Squad - Complete

And finally, the bases have arrived. I give you Brother Kai-Loq, Brother Gatten and Brother Cassandros. I've finished a squad! Expect more pics this week, as I work on my devastators and assault marines. Paix!

Brother Vermis

Brother Vermis, another assault terminator. This model is my favourite of the five, I just love the stance. He really looks like he's heading straight for his next victim. More to come when my resin bases arrive. I've also ordered minis from Forgeworld, Mark IV and V armour. So expect an assault marine squad and a devastator squad in the weeks to come!

Sergeant Septin - complete

And there we go, Sergeant Septin is finished. I'm really pleased with how the blood and gore came out, not sure if it's a bit little, but I didn't want to overdo it either. Next up, Brother Vermis.

Shark Brethren - Sergeant Septin

Finished the first of my Terminator Assault Squad, Sergeant Septin. I'm rather pleased how he came out. Love the weathered, battered look of him, and the nice pose. You'll probably notice he hasn't been based yet, I've ordered some tech bases from the Dragon Forge, one of my favourite resin base suppliers. Go check it out! When they are done, I'll be adding the blood effects. Yes, these guys are going to be gory, as suits the feared Carcharodons.

Assault Terminators - Shark Brethren

Here it is, the start of my Carcharodon army. Five assault terminators, battle-damaged and undercoated.

I'm following the Weathered Wolves tutorial from Miniatures from Valhall, an excellent blog. I'll also be using the blood effects found on his blog, so all credit to him for writing it up. I highly recommend checking it out.

Tyberos - The Red Wake up for preorder

Just look at him. Isn't he gorgeous? I preordered mine immediately, of course. Then I went out and picked up a box of Assault Terminators, which I'll be adding later on.

A Giladean Heavy Flamer

Not 100% pleased with the yellow, but otherwise quite satisfied with the mini.

A Giladean Officer

And here he is. Haven't decided which one this is just yet, but I was rather pleased. I especially like how the scar on his face came out, and his expression in general.

A Giladean Scout

I mentioned earlier, I have been painting a bit. I have finished three guardsmen; one scout, an officer and a heavy flamer. I haven't quite decided on what kind of bases I want to use, so they're unbased as of present. Here's the scout for starters. He's the first one I painted, and so far my favourite. Just love the whole feel of him. This was also the first time I've started with NMM, I'm sure it's not perfect but it sure works for me.

yay, another post!

Hi guys, I know, it's been a long time coming. Life has been hectic to say the least. New baby in the family, my son Gilead Zachary Kittil. Yes, I know, it's an awesome name. Thank you. He's awesome too.

Anyway, I lost my job some time last summer, so you'd think I'd have been all over my minis. Well, in a way I have, I've also been playing way too much computer games. Anyway, all my terminators were lost in an unfortunate cleaning accident. I only have the two painted ones which were on a shelf in my office, alas. On the other hand, while the loss of all those gorgeous Space Hulk terminators was saddening, I'll have to buy new ones when I get a chance.

I have been busy with other minis, notably a small squad of Empire Outriders and several Imperial Guard. I've been meaning to start up my Marines again, but haven't had the heart. As it turns out, my waiting was most fortunate.

I tend to browse Forgeworld's website often, looking at all the awesome stuff they make. Then I saw Imperial Armour 10, a series I've never even considered buying, but a screenshot caught my eye. The first and only Space Marine chapter I've ever truly loved, the Space Sharks. Turns out they're getting an update and revamp, now to be called the Carcharodons. I kind of like the name. Anyway, here's the screenshot:

Looks pretty awesome. I hope they'll be releasing some stuff for 'em, like shoulderpads and whatnots. After a brief check on Warseer, seems I'm not the only one hopin' for more. So I'm putting off marines until I know some more.
